The room was bright and had a comfortable bed and a traditional sofa, the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful, and the price was reasonable at £35.

We had a such great stay for one or two nights.
Thoroughly enjoyed our queen room. The hotel had a very central setting quick to reach from the airport. And it was also so close to the main walking/shopping street, great restaurants and shops and the center of old Mardin.

With a spectacular location below an ancient palace, overlooking the Fertile Crescent, a stay at Zinciriye is an unforgettable experience. Its outdoor stairways, terraces - plus street access at three different levels - make it feel like it was designed by M. C. Escher. Finding this hotel in such an out of the way place as Mardin was an unexpected delight for our family of three.
Staff were well intended but did not speak English, so Google Translate or a phrasebook will be helpful. Breakfast was sub par, but the bazaar just across the street has wonderful fresh fruit, bread and juices.

Lovely building, great location
Beware of the staff trying to palm you off with an inferior room. When we initially complained about the size of the room and that it was a twin, not a double as requested, we were told there were no others. On being persistent we were shown a couple of much better rooms that came closer to justifying the price.

Ideal spot near all the cool old stuff, super clean, and the staff are always ready to lend a hand when you need 'em! 🌟

Beautiful hotel converted from stone carved Mardin house. Comfortable and ethnic. Food adequate - did not try the rooftop restaurant.
When arrived, difficult to park the car as there were major road works outside. The receptionist was not helpful, but the rest of the staff were. There are a lot of stairs to climb up to the hotel from the road and a lot of steps within the hotel, so not one for the physically challenged! Bar/restaurant across the road with loud Kurdish dance and music at night until after midnight - one along the road too - maybe best to join in rather than try to slee

Hotel was quite expensive. However location was first class and lashings of hot water. As I am 70 years old they changed my room to the ground floor which was helpful. Many good eating establishments close by. You needed to speak some Turkish as the staff knew almost no English. However, they did their best to help

We booked a lovely triple room with a romantic and minimalist design that was very close to the center and sightseeing spots in Turkey.
